Mogil'nyj Sergej Georgievich
Professor
Mogil’ny Sergej Georgievich was born December 15, 1939 in the city of Krasnyj Liman, Donetsk Region. Having graduated with honor from Donetsk Poytechnic Institute, “Mine Surveying” in 1962 he was recommended for the post graduate course by Professor D.N. Oglobin. In 1963 he continued his post graduate studies under the direction of Professor V.G. Zdanovich at the Department of Geodezy, Leningrad Mining Institute, where he in 1965 defended his candidate’s degree dissertation on the topic “Methods for analyzing the accuracy of the results of approximate methods for equalization of surveying and geodetic measurements”. In 1983 in Leningrad Mining Institute he defended his doctor’s degree dissertation on the topic «Theoretical basis of automated system for mining support problem solving in developing open pit mines», performed at the junction of photogrammetry, remote sensing and mine surveying.
In recognition of his services in preparing specialists he was awarded with the badge “For excellent success in work” in the field of high education, the badge “Mining Glory” of the 3-d grade, the badge “Excellent Worker of Education of the Ukraine” and badge of honor of “Pyotr Mogila”.
Especially outstanding are his works in the field of analytical and digital photogrammetry. He developed world-wide known programming complexes for analytical phototriangulation, process and equalization of mining and geodetic networks, digital modeling of open pit mines, which were implemented and are successfully used by enterprises and educational institutions of the Ukraine and Russia as well as abroad.
Interests
Scientific interests refer to the field of information technologies in mine surveying, land cadastre and high-precision industrial engineering geodesy.
BlockMSG
The system for creation and equalization of analytical phototriangulation networks. Designed for determination of object points’ coordinates by means of measuring their photo shots (land-based, aerial, space-based or their combination)
Nowadays the system is used for geodetic network extension and creation of digital model of territories, for solving tasks for land inventory and in mine surveying for open pit mining support.
Upon delivery, user training is provided.
-
The system does not impose constraints on geometric structure and the size of photogrammetric network;
-
ensures effective detection of rough errors;
-
removes systematic errors of photo shots increasing the accuracy 1.5 - 2 times;
-
takes into account geodetic coordinate system parameters and photo shots navigation data measurements;
-
can perform digital camera calibration, including those of UAV.
